-Create & use numerical superiority
Coaching Points:
- Move into space
- Communicate constantly to receive the ball
- Off-the-ball movements (side to side)
- Always receive the ball with the farthest (front) foot
Description:
- Players will be split up in 3 groups (5v2),(5v2), and (4v2). Players will play a rondo looking to keep the ball and create space and time. Attackers score by connecting 5 passes, each time they connect they get 1 point. The defender's role is to steal the ball by recovering it and dribbling out of the square. If defenders score by dribbling outside the square they score 2 points. First team to 10 wins. Team that losses will have to do 5 pushup burpees.
Work/Rest Ratio:

Description:
The purpose of this exercise is for the focus team to build from the back by looking to connect passes with the (1,4,5,2,3, and 6) to play forward and create scoring chances by shooting in the goal. If the red team recovers the ball, they have to go directly to the big goal and score. Each time the red team scores they get 2 points. Each time the blue team scores they get 1 point. Coaching Points:
*Weight of the pass
*Angle of orientation
Receive with open hips
check shoulders before receiving the ball
ask, scan, receive, and execute
Description:
Player A will pass the ball to Player B; Player B will look to receive the ball with his hips open, facing side-on to check his shoulders, and look to pass the ball to Player C on the other end of the field. The idea of this exercise is for the players to practice receiving the ball with their hips open making sure they have the correct body orientation to play the ball forward. Once player C received the ball, it will continue to go back around to Player A. We will do this for 1 Minute and switch players in the middle. Players on the end will play with GKs to involve them in the rotation.
Work/Rest Ratio:
45s x 15s x 3 reps
Field Size:
20L x 30W
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
Progression: Play with 2 touches max or add a defender in the middle to shadow cover
Regression: No touch limit
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
Look to pass the ball to the players farthest foot.
