Pitch size to suit your players and numbers. Should be tight enough to make Creating Space an essential part of the game. Both teams are encouraged to play 1-touch when possible.
Progression
Reduce the pitch size or add in players up to your normal numbers (9v9 or 11v11)
Technical
Move towards the ball, particularly when marked tight or in attacking areas.
Tactical
Encourage players to let the ball run across the body, to buy more time, but still try to play 1-touch.
(Draws defenders in and allows more space and increases passing angles. Allows attackers more time to make penetrative runs and for the passer to recognise those runs).
Physical
Match pace/tempo.
Psychological
Encourage positive play at all times. If players are struggling with the 1-touch restriction and playing negatively, only allow one backwards pass before a forward pass has to be played.
