Scenario 2 - attack through midfield
Key message is to press the ball early!!!!
Primary Players
- Switch on at the change of possession
- nearest CM player to moves quickly to get into line of the ball press to win the ball
- Stop the forward pass
- Other Cm player to drop and narrow to support left side CM player but tracks run of opposing CM player if made
Secondary Players
- Both central defenders drop and narrow
- GK support

Scenario 3 - ball into strikers feet
The ball has been stopped going forward due to good pressing, but the CM players have been split through the middle.
Primary Players
- Switch on at the change of possession
- Left CM player to move quickly to recover and track the run of right sided attacking CM
- Right sided defensive CM to drop and narrow to support CB and also have a bite at the toes of striker while stopping passing angle back into CM player.
Secondary Player
- Both central defenders drop and narrow
- GK support

Scenario
White defending team initially lose the ball, the server can play the ball into the practice on the coaches whistle. 2 white CM players immediately narrow to stop ball into the blue attacking strikers
No pressure on the ball so both central defenders drop slightly to be aware of the ball over the top, Gk's starting position allows him to be able to sweep if long ball played over CD heads.
