Activation Warm Up - Part 1 (10 mins)

Warm up overview : Activation Warm Up

  • Two groups of players. Split in the half. RED group - without footballs. GREEN group with footballs.
  • Equipment - poles, cones and ladder
  • Coach standing close to ''exchange zone''

Session detail:

  • Front players from the both groups start in the same time. RED group needs to go through the poles and coordination ladder - they can choose drills which they would like to do between poles and on the ladder. GREEN group is dribbling through red and yellow cones. Similar to the other group - they can choose which foot they would like to use and how they will do it. When both players reach ''exchange zone'' players from GREEN group are passing the ball to teammate from RED group. After that they going to the opposite rows/groups. Player with the ball is dribbling through the cones to the beginning and player without the ball is doing dynamic warm-up drills on the red cones and simple jog on the purple cones on his way to the opposite group/row.
  • Next two players can start when players in front of them are doing drill No2 in their rows. 
  • First 10 minutes - low intensity. Adaptation.

Coaching detail:


Communication

  • Communication in the exchange ''zone''. Ask for the ball/Put the name on the ball.

Observation

  • Keep your head up, scan the pitch. Check what's going on around you. Be alive.
Ball control
  • Don't touch the cones, do it properly. Focus on good touch and ball control.

Dynamic warm-up - point no 5

  • Dynamic warm-up drills on purple cones. Encourage players to do it properly.
