Football Problem
When the team win the ball back we are to slow to play the ball forward to take advantage of an overload when transitioning from BPO > BP
Session Objective
In this session I aim to improve the ability of my players to recognise the right moment to play quick forward passes when transitioning from BPO > BP
Organisation
Three 5 minute matches with 2 minutes break in between matches
Two teams of 8 with one team playing an 8 v 6 in the middle zone
The practice starts with the Blue team trying to keep controlled possession in the middle zone and the Red team trying to win the ball and play a quick forward pass to their team mates who are waiting in their designated end zone
When the Red team plays a quick forward pass into their team mates waiting in the end zone, they then enter the middle zone and two of the Blue team drop out into their designted end zone
Progression
Two teams of 7 with two Jokers, one team playing an 9 v 5 in the middle zone
The practice starts with the Blue team trying to keep controlled possession in the middle zone and the Red team trying to win the ball and play a quick forward pass to their team mates who are waiting in their designated end zone
