Org.:
- 2 teams, Width of box x 30L; 4 x 4 minutes
Instructions:
- Blue passes the ball to reds to begin play and immediately pressure. Red is trying to beat blue and score by stopping the ball on the end-line, while blue tries to win it back and score on the opposite end line
Progression:
- If they win the ball in the upper half and score, it's worth 2 points
Coaching Points/Ques.: (coaching over the top; 1-2 short stops max during play; layer in between sets)
- Make attackers uncomfortable with pressure
- How can we use our teammates to win the ball back?
- Work together, compact like a closed fist
- Can we intercept the ball by reading the game?
Non-Focus (Red:
- Can we move the ball quickly to score?
- How do we disorganize the defending team?
AOI:
- Distance between the players defending - too far apart
- Chasing the player without the ball
- Technique of defending - trying to tackle quick instead of being patient
Principles of Play:
- Compact/concentration
- Make play predictable (1st Def.); Cover (2nd Def.)
- "Don't get beat on the inside foot"
- "Protect the middle"

- 1v1 technique of defending: get there quick, slow when close, low in our stance
- Make play predictable
- 2v2 technique: 2nd defender close to cover if 1st is beat, but prevents the pass thru us
