Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): 2010 build up games

9v6 Build Up Game

Organisation:

• Blue attacking team line up in a 1-4-2-2.
• Red defending team line up in a 2-4.
• Blue team start with possession with GK, they looking to progress ball into one of the #10's, on this, play opens up and blue team look to score in mini-goals at the end. 
• 1st zone is 7v4; 2nd zone is 2v2.
• Blues look to score within 10 seconds of progressing into midfield.

Attacking KP's:

• Quality Passing (& Disguise)
• Movement/Support
• Forward options
• Body shape
• Communication

Defending KP's: 

• Pressing (who, how, when)
• Cover & Balance when 1 player pressing
• Little space between defenders.
• Compact (Vertically & Horizontally)
• Shifting/moving as a unit
• Communication

Transition KP's: 

• Quick reaction to transition
• Can we pass forward/score quickly (attack)
• Can we regroup quickly (defence)

Questions: 

• Who presses (in variety of situations, depending who has the ball) and why etc.
