Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Breaking lines

• I will work with the red team ball will either start at player a or b 
• player in the centre area will be locked in there.
• can we look at how we use our 3v2 in midfield. 

Organisation

• Goals x3
• Bibs (7 blue + 9 red)
•  Footballs
• Large Cones
• Pitch area 28x40m

Learning objectives:

• How do we look to use an overload in the middle third of the practice 
• can we break lines
• can our centre midfielders use rotation to get into space 
• can our midfielders be more positive with there movement and touches (eg think forward first)

Challenge:

• Midfielders to play forward/ wide rather than backwards 
• To take positive first touches forward
• look to create chances for him teammates 

Targets

• breaking lines and exploring the overload by playing around through or over

• Midfielders to start are locked within the box
• other players can help by going into the box 

Key points

• Our 10 will have naturally more time as he is in a 3v2. 
• can he work on scanning and then basing on the information he has recognised can he be positive with his touches and look to drive forward and make forward passes and create chances
