Activity Name: 1 v 1 to 2 v 2
Activity Description: First player in group 1 goes 1v1 against the first player in group 2. As soon as the ball goes out both players switch to defense and go 2 v 2 with two of the players from group 3. After the 2 v 2, the players from group 1 and 2 switch ends and the players from group 3 return to their group. After 5 minutes switch roles.
Coaching Points:
- Be creative and use attacking moves in 1 v 1 situation.
- Transition from 1 v 1 to 2 v 2 defending.
- In 2 v 2 situation try to use various combinations.

Activity Name: Numbers Up Transition
Description: Arrange players into two teams and play 3v3 with 3 players resting (for smaller groups have less players resting and rotate individual players). Every time a player turns over possession they must run around the other teams goal before they can defend. This creates a numbers up situation for the other team giving them an opportunity to attack in the numbers up situation. In the example here the one player gives the ball away by playing a bad pass. They now must run around the opposition goal while to opposition has the chance to attack in a 3v2 situation. Every couple of minutes the coach should shout 'switch' when this happens the players who are on run off and the players who are off come on and play (as mentioned above, for lower numbers just switch individual players). If you have odd numbers instead of shouting switch the coach can give players numbers and whichever numbers the coach shouts switch (example - if 1, 2, and 3 are playing and 4 is resting, when coach shouts 3, 3 would run off and 4 would run on). If you have larger numbers play 4v4 or regular 5v5 in necessary.
IMPORTANT: players run around the goal every time they give possession away - a bad pass, getting tackled, kicking ball out on the sideline, scoring a goal - if players are struggling to keep any sort of possession due to level of play maybe remove some of the instances which require a player to run around the goal.
Coaching Points:
- Look to incorporate movement and combinations in numbers up situations.
- When numbers up happens look to attack at pace before the recovering player gets back in position.
- Good communication between players - verbal and visual.
- Quality of pass and first touch.

Zig-Zag Dribble (15 mins)
Activity Name: Ball Manipulation Diagonals.
Activity Description: 1st player in each group dribbles ball on a diagonal to the next cone and performs a set footskill for a set number of reps (4 x soccer boxes). After completing the skill they dribble on the diagonal to the next cone and repeat. Players go all the way up to the final disc cone. After performing the skill at the final disc cone they now dribble straight out to the large pointed cone and perform a turn and face skill. They then dribble back down the side of the activity to the group.
Use a variety of footskills - soccer boxes, toe taps, pull-push.
Introduce other futsal technique - sole delay and scooping.
Make it a competition - Challenge players to race the player opposite them
No Lines - Make sure as soon as one pair get past the first cones that the next players goes.
