Organization:
- Field size adjusted as needed
- Each player with ball, cones sprea throughout the field
Instructions:
- Players are racing to get around as many cones as they can. Players get one point for turning with the ball around the entire cone and then find a new cone to dribble around
- Depending on theme of the game, can add treasure underneath one cone for players to try and find
Coaching Points:
- Keeping the ball close to us when turning
- What type of touch to do while turning, what type of touch to do after turning
- Acelerate after executing the turn
- What part of the foot can we use to turn
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
- Field size adjusted as needed
- Players split into equal groups and at the corners of the field, all the balls in the middle (odd number of balls ideal)
Instructions:
- Players take turns leaving their zone to run into the middle, take a ball and turn with it bringing it back to their zone
- Only one player in each group leaves their zone
- Goal is to get as many soccer balls into the zone as possible trying to beat the other groups
- Progress to now allowing players to steal from other zones, one at a time, after all the balls in the middle are gone
Coaching Points:
- Head up to see where the ball/open space is
- Close control when turning with the ball
- Accelerate out of the turn and into open space

Organization:
- Field size adjusted as needed
- 2v2 or 3v3 depending on numbers
Instructions:
- When the ball goes out, players dribble in rather than throw/kick in
Coaching Points:
- Reinforcing points worked on earlier
- Working on team shape when we have the ball on a restart, i.e. goal kick. Players wide, one in the middle, creating options and space for the team to find an open pass

Dribbling Warm-Up (10 mins)
Organization:
-Every Player with ball in 20x30 grid
Instructions:
STEP I:
-Players dribble using Messi touches and Ronaldo touches, choosing the correct time for each, ie close spaces using messi touches, open space using ronaldo touches.
-After a few minutes, a challenge is introduced. Players now race to 50+ touches using Messi, Ronaldo, or a combination of the two.
STEP II.
-Players dribble throughout area using any part of foot and wait for different commands
1) Change - Players leave their ball and find a new one to dribble with
2) Out - Players dribble as quickly as they can to the edge of the field
3) In - Players dribble as quickly as they can around the coach, keeping close control of the ball
Coaching Points:
-Head up to see available space
-Keep the ball close when in crowded areas (can you take a touch every step you take)
-If a player sees a good area of space, then they can take bigger touch/accelerate into it
-Use correct dribbling technique (pinky toe touches, knee over ball)
Progressions:
-If players lose the ball outside of the area, or hit another player/ball they lose 10 points in the race to 50.
