Phase 1 Dribbling (10 mins)

What you need:

4 cones

2 balls

If possible, 8 players per group. Min 6 Players per group

This is a basic but can be a challenging drill.

This drill is phase 1 of 3 phases.

Each phase should last about 10 min.

5 min going clockwise with right foot, 5 min going counter clock wise with left foot.

-Balls always start diagonal from each other and at the same time.

-Players must dribble from one cone to the next cone leaving the ball to the next player who is waiting to recieve the ball. That player dribbles to the next player and so on.

Start the drill with both groups, at the same time. Player A & Player 1 (who are across from each other) will dribble to the next player, which is Player B and Player 2, and so on, going clock wise.

Coaches Focus Points:

-For the first minute of the drill, observe the drill and let players figure out the drill after you explained and showed them how to do it.

-Make sure players are using the specific foot (example right foot only)

-Make sure players after dribbling the ball turn around and are ready for the next ball that is coming.

-Make sure players are always on on their toes and communicating with other players

Increase difficulty of this drill:

-Have players dribble fast to the next cone.

-Have players do different variations of skills when dribbling to the next person

Example: sole touches, roll overs, side touches, inside outside of the foot, scizzors, Ronaldo chop, etc.

-Have players who are waiting for the ball battle shoulder to shoulder as the players/ball is getting close

Make it fun and add a challenge by saying players must catch up the the person with the ball in the front.
