Organization:
- 3 teams of 3 players, or 3 of 4, depending on size.
- 1 ball per team.
- 4 endzones (South North, West East)
- 15x15yd box, or adjust to size.
Instructions:
- Purple: West to East. Start at one end and try to get to opposite end-zone by completing a pass there. Once pass is completed in end-zone, move back to complete pass on former end-zone and so on. One point for every endzone.
- White: Same as purple but in perpendicular direction (South-North).
- Red: Pass among each other, 1 point for every split and/or 1 point every 10 passes.
- Every team goes once or twice in a minute and a half interval.
Coaching Points:
- Can we control (or trap) the ball with the first touch?
- Can we await the pass on our toes?
- Can we control with the inside of the foot and look up?
- Arms and hands open down by hips to signal 'feet'
- Can we 'catch' the ball with our foot and decide?
- Open space vs Under pressure: when is it appropriate to pass with a first touch?
Progressions:
- Condition: Every player must touch the ball on way to endzone.
- If 8 players, an alternative is to do 2 teams of 4 and send an alternate defender each time (3v1 as teams travel to end zone).
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
- 3v3 + 3 (2 target players and a neutral teammate)
Instructions:
- 3v3 in the grid, first team to 3 points wins.
- Teams score by hitting target, they have to change direction after each goal (Cannot score in same consecutive targets).
- Target team counts score by yelling scoreline everytime there is a goal, when a team gets to 3, they go into the grid and losing team becomes target.
Coaching Points:
- Can we 'catch' the ball and prepare for the next action (pass, control or dribble)?
