Session Content
This is a back to hockey session focusing on push pass and receive as well as making connections through game play.
During game play focusing on the WHC principles:
With the ball: Always play into space
Without the ball: Apply early pressure
Personal standards: Always working on the basics (pass / receive)

Warm-up - Number Rollerball without sticks
3v3 in a square (10x10 yards)
Players must roll the ball (below knee-height) to their team mates
Players must remain still when holding the ball (like netball)
Defending team tries to intercept the ball
If they intercept, they start their count of connected passes
Play best of 3, winning team plays winning team from square next door

Set up one or two areas
Group players into 4s or 5s (not more preferably)
Players outside the area pass the ball to each other
Passes must travel through the area
Player in the area tries to intercept
Coaching points
Weight through the ball (step)
Make eye contact
Receiver use stick to indicate where they want the pass
Receiver to use first touch round the cone

Set up 4 cones, 10 - 15m apart
One ball
At least one player on each cone (no more than 7-8 in total)
Push pass from cone to cone and follow the pass
Pass in an anti clockwise direction
Coaching points
Weight through the ball (step)
Make eye contact
Receiver use stick to indicate where they want the pass
Receiver to use first touch round the cone

One ball
Push pass from cone to cone and follow the pass
Receiver receives and bounces the ball back to the runner
Runner receives and plays the ball back following to the cone
Repeat this around the square
