Technical 20 mins. Work on driving at the cones, performing a move to get around the cones, then playing ball through to teammate on other side. Work on the V move, feignt & scissors to create space to play through. Rcae when proficient at the skill.
Coaching points:
- V move: open up hips to make ball travel in a wide "V" shape
- feignt: big step to side of ball, weight all on leg, shoulder/head drop, push away with outside of opposite foot
- scissors: big step around the ball, weight on outside leg, head/shoulder drop, push away with outside of opposite foot
- change of pace after every move (medium to fast)
- eyes up after change of angle
- drive at cone with pace, smaller, more frequent touches as you near cones (defender)
- look to create just enough space to get outside the cones and play through quickly

1v1 to goal. 20 mins. 2 teams take turns being attackers and defenders. To start, defenders can't tackle, can only get in the way or block shots. Progress to full pressure. Have to get beyond the cones after passing in to go defend attacker.
Coaching points:
- positive, directional 1st touch. Get defender moving backwards
- keep ball close with little touches when close to defender
- look to get strike on goal away as soon as possible. Only need to create enough space to get a strike away (width of ball)
- look to unbalance defender using moves learned earlier
- attack back foot of defender

2v2 into wide goals. Defending serves balls out to attackers. Play for set amount of time and switch roles.
Coaching points:
- protect the ball and look to face up to defender to attack goals
- be aggressive. Look to unbalance defender and attack back foot
- only need to create enough space to get a strike away (width of ball)
- don't need to smash it. Use either foot to poke or pass ball into goal

4v4 w/ a neutral in yellow (if 9) into big goals. No keepers. Can only score in attacking half of field.
Look to reinforce all earlier points. Make sure space on the field is being used properly in possession to create space to attack. Stop play when opportunity to go 1v1 not taken.
Encourage brave attempts to take players on in attacking half.
