1v1 Domination
PLAY
Play begins with 'Zidane' work - receiving the ball with your back to goal and finding a way to turn.
Player A plays to Player B who must try to turn to face up to Player C and pass them. Once Player B has passed Player C, and turned at the other end, he faces up to Player C. This is 'Ronaldo' work - facing your opponent 1v1 running with the ball. Player C is to defend their line, not in front nor behind but side to side across the line.
Player A become attacker, Player B the defender and Player C the server etc
KEY POINTS
- Protect the ball; kill the ball when receiving it with the sole with your back to goal - have you arm out for protection.
- Keep close control; almost tempt the defender to make a challenge but make sure you are in control of the ball at all times.
- Exaggerate the feint; you are looking to fool the defender and pass him - do anything to pass him.
- Move at speed; in 'Ronaldo' work, players need to move quickly, fool the defender at the right distance - knock them off balance.
- Be creative and confident!
PROGRESSIONS
Play should start as passive defending, then semi-active, then full defensive.

Attacking Pattern Play
PLAY
To work on basic attacking pattern play from kick ins, remembering that these plays have to be rehearsed due to the quick nature of Futsal restarts.
KEY POINTS
- Receiving with the back foot; as we would in football however, we want to roll the ball genty in front to play quickly with the opposite foot.
- Thinking ahead; players must be aware of the next move to keep the attack moving.

Player A (who initiates the play then moves to become the central pivot) is recomended to receive the ball with the sole of the back to play with the inside of the front foot.

In Match to finish session, players can only tackle a certain player of the over team. As a progression/variation, do not tell the players who they will be tackled by - it is their challenge to attack quickly to prevent them being pressed and also the responsibility of their teammates to CREATE space for the player to ISOLATE and then DOMINATE.

Skills Corridor
Skills Corridor (15-20mins)
PLAY
Players run with the ball through the corridor [15X6] using as many different parts of their feet as possible. Can pick up the ball and do dynamic stretches/do keep ups/ run with the ball down the outside on the way back.
Next pair/trio go when the players in front are halfway through the first box.
PROGRESSIONS
1. Players do sets of the following: five touches in each square, four touches, three, two, one, then two sets of running through the corridor with a little touches as possible.
2. Add two players centrally on each side to pass along the ground to each other. Track their movement.
3. Remove passers. Players going up the square must go diagonally and hit a side in each square (perform a turn), then when returning, go through the middle but can only go forwards and backwards. Next group can only go when group in front are turning to return.
4. Re-add the passers and let carnage ensue.
KEY POINTS
Good listening skills, close ball control, ball manipulation on all surfaces of the foot.
