Moving on to get the GK's thinking a little more about their movements around the area and then setting for the shot on goal.

Good coach
Instructions:
The GK stands inbetween the 2 poles. The C throws the ball to the GK for a scoop which the GK gathers and returns. The C then serves the ball to 1 side which the GK has to move around the back of the pole and return the ball using his left or right foot depending what side the ball is on
Progression:
A save to either side is to be performed (in the small goal)1st and then the foot movement
Coaching points:
* The GK is setting early and watching the ball at all times
* The GK is using short sharp foot movements around the area
* All dives are forward with good hand position on the ball

Instructions:
The GK stands in the centre of the 2 small goals. The C at the back of the goal indicates what goal is to be used for the shot and the have to try and score. The GK is to look for early movements/trigger point to jusdge for the shot.
We are looking for the GK to have good shape in this exercise, with him diving forward and the hands out in front of him

Progression:
The C comes to the front of the goal and points to the GK what side the shot is going to go to, it is up to the GK to get himself into position - the C can of course change his mind (several times, until he finall decides)

* The GK is looking for early movement and relevant trigger points
* The GK is moving forward and attacking the ball
* The GK is securing the ball

Instructions
The GK starts in the centre of the goal in order to receive a scoop save from c1.
Upon returning the ball the GK will move over the goal in order to set for the shot from c2/3.
Progression:
After the shot from c2/3, c1 will take another shot to any position in the goal.
Coaching points:
* The GK is looking for early movement and relevant trigger points
* The GK is moving forward and attacking the ball
* The GK moving quickly to set for the secondary shot

Instructions:
The GK will start at the front of the triangle, the C at the rear of the tiangle will indicate what side is no be played. On that coach making a movement the GK will make a backwards movement and ensure that he is square to the ball, he will then set for the shot

* The GK is watching for the early movement
* The GK is getting square to the ball as early as possible
* The GK sets early and is leaning forward upon gaining the set position

Shooting drill
The GK starts in the centre of his goal.
The C calls out a colour and a number, the GK has to touch that coloured marker with his foot and then move to be in-line with the relevant coach for the shot on goal

Instructions
The GK's pair off
In a tight square, the GK's have to pass to each other and move around - without going out of the square (or the ball). The C's can try to make life difficult for them
push up's if the ball does go out of the square
Coaching points:
* The GK are watching the ball and the coaches
* The GK are trying to move into some space to keep the ball safe
* Communication
