To progress from the last practice there are now two teams on the outside of the area that are split so all lines of the outer square are covered.
The players must again receive the ball in 4 different squares before they can pass to a target player, who transfers to his partner before the ball comes back into play. Both central teams have a ball and play unopposed. Roles are rotated with outside players.
The central teams now play against each other. The rules remain and if the ball gets to a target player then a goal is scored. Rotate central teams after 2 minutes. To increase tempo play the same game but the first team to 3 wins.

The practice now develops to a game scenario. There are 2 defenders, 4 midfielders and 1 striker per team. The ball must be received in 3 boxes in the central zone before the ball is played to the striker.
A midfielder may support the striker, making a 2v2, the striker can go on their own, or the striker can bounce back into the midfield area for a longer range shot. A goal cannot be scored unless the striker has touched the ball, Rotate roles. Progress to natural rotation with defenders driving out and being covered and the nearest attacker recovering to midfield if possession is lost.

The midfield area is split into 3 channels and 3 widths to form a gride, measuring 8x8 yards each.
(1) Teams pass the ball within their team, trying to use the grids as reference points to help them rotate and combine in midfield. The aim is to find different ways to pass and move the ball and try to recognise the interference from the other team(s).
(2) To progress, the game now becomes directional, the ball must be received in 4 different squares before a player can break over the end line to receive a pass, which counts as a goal. Once this has been completed they work their way to the opposite side of the pitch.
