Stage 1: Warm-up Part II
Organization: 4+ players; Two gates 4 yards length, 2 large cones (10x10 yard area)
Instructions: Player A will start by passing the ball to Player B then sprinting to follow pass. Player B will check off of the cone, open up body to field, receive ball through gate with first touch, then dribble to the next Player A.
***Progression 1 - Have two balls go at once ***Progression 2 - After Player B receives ball through the gate, they will pass the ball to the next Player A at other cone.
Coaching Points: 1. Create space by getting off starting cone; 2. Before receiving ball, open up body to face direction of attack; 3. Checking over shoulder; 4. Quality & weight of first the touch; 5. Accuracy of pass

Stage 2: 5v2 Possession - Finding the Target Player
Organization: 7+ players; 25x20 yard area divided into 3 sections; supply of balls
Instructions: The coach will pass the ball to one of the Target Players in the endzone (T), who will receive w/ first touch then look to pass to either teammates in the central area or to the other Target Player in the opposite endzone. To make more game-like, keep score of how many times ball goes through all areas of field from one Target Player to the other.
Coaching Points: 1. Create space by loosing defender; 2. Before receiving ball, open up body to face direction of attack, or to avoid defender; 3. Create depth & width; 4. Quality & weight of first the touch; 5. Awareness of space (check shoulder)

Stage 3: Attacking/Defensive 1/3 of Field --- 7v3 Possession w/ Goals
Organization: 10+ players; 50x40/half field divided into 3 sections; supply of balls; 2 small goals
Instructions: The attacking team will start with the ball in one of the outside sections (3v1) and try to advance it to the middle section (1v1) by passing & receiving, then finally the other outside section. If the defending team wins the ball from the attackers, they will try to score in either one of the two small goals on the outside.
***Progression - remove the sections and play in one area with same concept (DEPTH & WIDTH)

Player B will receive the ball through either gate with first touch, then dribble ball to start. ***Progression: After Player B touches ball through gate, they willpass the ball to the next Player A in line.
