Session topic: Improve wingplay by playing wide and create an overload
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Stage 2:
Field: 40x50
Players: 5 per field. 3 ATT, 2 DEF
In the next stage we are introducing an 3v2 and a big goal. In this more complex setting players have to actively look to create a 2v1. If numbers allow we can add GK. It starts with 10# from the middle who passes ball to #11, #7. #10, #6, #8 follow up and make the overlap.
DEF should fully press ball carrier.

Field: Attacking Half
Players: 10 (ATT 3-3, DEF 1GK-4-1)
We start from the middle #10, #11 and #7 are in a free zone and cannot be attacked until they receive a pass. On their touch defender can pressure and midfielders have to time their run to beat the DEF. If DEF wins the ball there is no restriction and we play regular game. DEF score on small goals. Reset when ball is out of play.

Stage 4:
Field: Attacking Half
Players: 14 (ATT 1GK-3-3, DEF 1GK-4-2)
Regular game

Stage 1. (10 mins)
Stage 1:
Session topic: Improve wingplay by playing wide and create an overload
Objective 1: Improve the #10 #9 decision making to play wide to #11 or #7
Objective 2: Improve the #6 #10 #8 decision making to recognize the moments to go for an overlap and cross it in.
Field: 10x15
Players: (3) 2 ATT, 1 DEF.
Time: 5min reps
Red starts with the ball and commits to DEF. On the touch 2nd red player will go for an overlap by making a run from behind and receives ball from player. Ball carrier makes decision to beat DEF or passes the ball sideways. Depending on the angle of the DEF. They can score a point by dribbling passed the line. DEF wins the ball and scores by dribbling passed the other end line.
This exercise helps to promote the timing and understanding of an overlap and when to pass to the player that makes the overlap or beat the DEF.
Guided Questions: When should we start our overlap? On the ATT touch.
What should the ball carrier do? Commit to the DEF
When should we take on the DEF when should we pass? Depending on DEF, is het tracking the runner we dribble. If he attacks the ball carrier we pass.
Which players are involved with the overlap when it goes to #11? #10 #6
