Pattern of play 1
Wide player runs defending full back inside. Leaving space for attacking full back to get forwaard and exploit ( as shown above)
Coaching points
1 both forwards movement is away from play, creating more space for the wide area to be exploited, by taking both centre backs with them
2 Timing of the run from the wide player, his movement must be with a purpose as to get the full back to think hes getting the ball paassed to him..
3 Full back will be ready to get forward and on the ball being transfered to aplayer in a position to make the pass he will set off upon the movement of the wide plyer.
Weight of pass from the attacker playing the ball into that area.
4 opposite wide player effecting the furtherest full back creating holes along the back four.

Option 2
As previous , but now the full back doesnt go with the run inside as he stays in position
This allows the wide player to get between the lines and get on the ball
Coaching points
Not to make the run too early inside as the defending midfielder will drop into the space.
Both attackimng midfielders need to stay deeper and create the space
Both centre forwards need to stretch the play giving a bigger gap between the defending lines .

Weakness if we lose possesion
As you can see from the senario the weakness is the counter attack into the area our full back has left
Coaching points :
Looking at the arrows, getting nearest centre back to become more full back, other centre back to move across, opposite full back to become furthest centre back and opposite wide player to try and fill in at full back ( as shown above )

30 minute Game
Coaching points
All of the above as well as:
When full back looks to make run forward. Timing
When wide player makes a movement inside. At what pace and what angle.
How other players effect the opposition and how can they influence defenders.
Opposite wide player looks to get into box and score if any cross is over hit
Goalkeeper keeping in contact with the defenders
Communication, Calls ( time space man on etc)
Objectives
Create overloads in wide areas.
Get bodies into the box and aim to score goals.
Supporting midfielders to be in a position to deal with second balls.
Hopefully, getting more opportunities to get crosses and shots.

Reflection.
Players used:Llangynwydd 1st team
DESCRIPTION.. What happend.....
Using 20 players and 2 goalkeepers.
Session worked very well the players involved picked up the patterns and movement quickly. Full backs and wide players understood how to create space.
After showing demonstrations and using a question and answer approach the team did take the information on board and the objectives were achieved.
Feelings....
Before.. I knew the players mostly involved in the patterns would enjoy the session, the others would not have a lot of imput in the first 15 minutes.
During... Session started very bright. Movement was game realistic. Inculding the strikers movemnets to make runs across defenders to score goals. Centre backs and goalkeeper didnt really enjoy the beginning of the session as they werent involved greatly.
During the 30 minute game it was clear that they had took everything on board that I had asked of them.
After..Players realised there are several ways of exploiting wide areas. The use of unselfish runs to cretae space for others was excellent. Very good imagination and creativity as well. Full back and wide players combination was good, always making opposite movements.
EVALUATION.
Good. Full backs and wide players really enjoyed the session but it was a lot of running for them.
Bad. Centre backs were a little bored in the first part of the session.
Analysis... How I influenced session....
Observing palyers and thier movement. Diagonsing problems as they arose in the 30 minute game.
Vocally giving instruction and just the odd reminders of when and how to make runs..
Conclusion...
Session worked quite well. Although I would start the prctice from the goalkeeper next time.
Action Plan..
Next time we conduct this session I will the session to start further back at the goalkeeper and the centre backs
Limitations..
No real limitations within the session. There was a lot of work for both full backs in this session

ORGANISATION
Reds formation of 4-4-2 v Blues formation of 4-3-3.
Aims:
Looking to exploit the space either left from the full back coming inside with the wide player getting the full back overlapping, or getting the wide player on the ball in the half space area.
Every player will have an understanding of thier roles and responsibilities within the team.
