Overview:

Two groups of players split evenly working in different directions with different purposes. The idea of this setup is to create chaos and confusion amongst players so they concentrate on the actions they are required to perform. With two groups working it means players have to be aware of their surroundings and make the correct decisions quickly while carrying out the technical actions. To start one group dribbles across in both directions with the other group dribbling forwards and then passing back to the next player

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):

Dribbling players move in a diagonal direction. - Both groups move in a diagonal direction.

- One group dribble diagonal, one group pass back and forth following their pass.

- One group dribble diagonal, one group play passing combinations with a player in the middle.

Coaching points:

Ball Control, Awareness, Quality of Pass, Decision Making

OVERVIEW: Setup an area with a goal at either end with a goalkeeper in each goal. Split the pitch into two with attackers at either end of the pitch and a defender in each half. One team starts the game with a pair of attackers attacking the defender in the opposite half and have to try and score in the opposite goal. The defenders have to try and dribble through the cone gates to gain a point. Once they score or the defender wins ball, the next pair begin and attack the defender on the opposite half of the pitch.  Regularly change the attackers and defend- ers around.

COACHING POINTS: 2 v 1 Attacking, Timing & Quality of Pass, Defending Outnumbered, Finishing

PROGRESSSION: Progress to 3v2.

REGRESSION: The defenders cannot tackle and have to simply try and block the passes between each of the attackers.
