Basic passing game looking at quality of first touch and correcting body position.
Aim of the game is to pass into the other half, all players must have 1 touch and everyone must touch the ball, before it is then transfered across to the other group. Competition to make the least mistakes.
Challenge for both teams is to ensure that you work the ball around to enable the pass that goes across to be played by a player who is in a position to play forward.
4v4 or 3v3 depending on numbers.
Technical points:
Ensure that players get in positions to play forward
First touch to cushion the ball and enable team mates to play forward.
The two players that will benefit the most from this session are Brad & Corbyn.
Brad's key technical challenges here are ensuring he can use his first touch to manipulate the ball in either diection not just always playing across his body, (to open out)
For Corbyn this practice will be incredibly important both technically and psychologically. One of Corbyn's technical issues is that he often needs 3-4 touches before making a decision. This practice will force Corbyn into making decisions to play first time and also raising his confidence levels as he succeeds. To enable this to happen their are certain positions in this game that are easier than others.
EG for Corbyn initially if he starts on the side he will not be the first pass that comes across therefor as his team mates cushion their first touch he can then be a link pass. As he becomes more confident he can go into the central areas.

Playing through midfield
Description - this is a variable activity
2 players on each, trying to play through midfield into the other end. Players can pass straight to the other, but can also go through their partner in midfield. 2 defenders in the middle try to win the ball and combine for a pass through the goal where possible to score.
This activty is great one to allow players to play under pressure when they feel comfortable. If the player on the outside is struggling it might be easier to have more time on the outside and also by being able to play straight through to the other end allows them to get more confidence and accuracy.
