2. Groups of 4 set up as shown
3. Two balls per group, extras around outside.
Instructions:
1. Player with ball plays pass across to opposite corner.
2. Receiving player takes a touch towards either gate and dribbles through it.
3. Passer runs through the opposite gate, then to center cone (back of receiving line).
4. Round 1 - open to the closest gate with the inside of the foot (touch away from body).
5. Round 2 - take touch across the body to the farthest gate with the inside of the foot.
6. Move to first progression after round 2.
Coaching Points:
1. Communication - verbal - call for the ball.
2. Communication - non-verbal - point to desired foot.
3. Move to get in line with the ball, avoid reaching/lunging.
4. Select appropriate/desired surface.
5. Positive first touch - big touch into space.
6. Pick head up as ball is played out of feet.
7. Acceleration into space as ball is out of feet.
Progressions:
1. Passer waits until attacker takes touch, then it's a race to opposing gates.
2. Passer immediately runs to one gate, attacker must observe this and go to opposite gate.
3. Replace gates with goals (see A). Passer follows pass to defend, attacker can score in either goal. First player to 5 wins.

Organization:
10 x 10 box. 2 yard gates.
Instructions:
- Four players, one in each corner. Keep ball on the outide of the square. Maximum of two touches.
- Players are to receive the ball on the back foot and to break the line of cones to keep momentum moving forward.
- When passing to the right, first touch should break line of red cones. Left...yellow.
- Make it a competition, each box of players is a team: 1 point for each successful pass received that breaks the line of cones, most points in a minute wins.
Coaching Points:
- Two touches (speed of play)
- As the ball travels: Check away to open up body position to receive on the back foot.
- Positive first touch to break the line.
Movement:
- passing player checks in to support.
- receiving player checks away to receive ball on the back foot.
Progressions:
Introduce defenders: with multiple squares each box is a team, number players in each box 1-4. Coach calls out a number, that player runs into the other box to defend. Three remaining players pass around the box making sure to move across as needed to provide support (i.e. two passing options). First defender to intercept the ball wins a point for their team.

2. Observe the position of the defender to determine the space to take the touch into.
3. Disguise the direction of the first touch.
4. Use first touch to set up next action (i.e. a pass into the goal).
Progressions:
1. Defender can start to close down the ball as soon as he releases the pass.
