Organization:
20x20 field
cone gates set up on ede of area
1 ball per player
Instructions:
dribbling around area for 1 minute at a time
1 point for dribbling through a gate around edge of field
after first round, Center zone must be entered before going to next gate
Coaching Points/Questions:
WHAT: Dribbling with different surfaces of feet. Different types of touches i.e. messi/roaldo touches
HOW: Slow down as you approach the gates, head up to avoid traffic, take messi touches through traffic
WHY: To keep control of ball as best as we can
WHERE: Where would dribbling like this occur on a field? - central areas with high traffic, wide areas with a lot of space
WHO: attacking and midfield players. central players.
Regressions/Progressions:
Prog 1: Introduce inside/outside and scissor moves. Lay down cones or intesert poles in the area to avoid
Prog 2: add defender (1 to start), defender can score on goals in the corners. Center zone become safe zone, 1 point to dribble through gates.
Prog 3: Add 2nd (or 3rd) defenders. Center zone is still safe zone, but is no longer required to pass through, but 1 point to dribble into it and 2 points to dribble to gates

Instructions:
3v3
in order to score player must dribble thrugh gates on goal line
3-5 min games the rotate teams
Coaching Points/Questions:
WHAT: Dribbling with different surfaces of feet to control the ball to beat defenders. Taking different types of touches depending on goal (beat defender, or cover space quickly) i.e messi vs ronaldo touches
HOW: Slow down as you approach a defender, head up to see him, take messi touches with different surfaces of foot to quickly change the direction of the ball, ronaldo touches to get away from defender after beating him. Can also use side roll and shielding to go around side of defender
WHY: To keep control of ball when beating defenders to get to goal
WHERE: Where would you use messi vs ronaldo touches in this situation
WHO: wide and central players
Regressions/Progressions:
Reg: Take away gates, must dribble over end line
Prog: must stop ball on the line (gates or no gates)

Every player needs a ball
Instructions:
Different ball mastery techniques in tight areas for 30 seconds at a time
Coach commands different techniques - pinky toe: left foot, right foot, inside and outside: left foot, right foot, boxing (inside of both feet), side roll. Throw ball up and settle in one touch
How many times can we enter high trafic areas and leave with out losing control of the ball?
Coaching Points/Questions:
WHAT: Getting as many touches as possible by using correct ribbling technique
HOW: Pinky toe small touches, keep ball close to body, inside/outside for tight turns. Head up when dribbling through traffic.
WHY: To master ability to dribble the ball so we can control the game
WHERE: Entering tight areas, exiting tight areas going into space, wide areas, attacking/defending halves.
WHO: Everyone needs to know how to control the ball
