Organization:
- 3 horizontal grids 24Wx8L
- 3 groups of 4 players (2 attacking groups in the outside grids. 1 defending group in the middle grid)
- 1 ball
Activity:
- The Defending group is trying to negate the opposition from splitting, or getting through their line of four defenders.
- Each group will defend for three minutes straight.
- Each time the attacking can break down the defending team and successfully cross the middle grid, the defending team gets hit with a point. (Points are bad in this game)
- The team that allows the least amount of points will have the least penalty as a result.

Models the back four and holding midfielders defending against a team sending numbers forward (ie. a team playing a 4-4-2 with the wingers pushed high)
Progression:
10v8 Numbers down, move the target goals ten yards behind the midline.
Coaching Points:
- Holding a higher line, and not dropping too far back
- Communication amongst the defensive group, *keeper especially*

Organization:
20Lx44W - divided into four vertical channels
1v1 in each channel
Progressions:
1) 1v1 inside each channel
2) Combine two channels, and play 2v2
3) Same as third progression, however the attacking four may float into any channel (2 people per channel maximum)
Coaching Points:
High Pressure - when you are the first defender we need to have immediate and tight pressure on the ball to take away the attackers options.
Cover - when you are the second defender, we need to have the appropriate covering angle, and body positioning (close enough to help if the first defender is beat off the dribble, and far enough off the back shoulder to sniff out penetrating runs)
Balance - Help keep our defensive line connected/compact. Hold the line steady, and not allow gaps for penetrating runs
Keep our shape! Defend as a line of four.
