Method: playing into the defensive midfielder to find the wide area
- to play into the CDM then out to the wide player
Coaching Points:
- movement off the cone
- quality of pass
- forward pass to wide player
- importance of first touch
- speed of play (maintaining quality)

Method: Possession to break into wide area
- Possession with yellows in possession trying to complete 5 passes before trying to complete 5 passes to break out into wide area, or play into front players who can then bounce into wide areas (if must go into a wide area before being able to score) the red defender not allowed to recover to defend until ball is played into area. The yellow wide player can choose whether to drive and shoot or cross, opposite wide player and defender can join in on the attack. The reds are looking to keep possession and find the small goals. If GK claims, hit area between blue mannequins
Coaching Points:
- maintain possession
- scanning to see wide options or central bounce
- wide players, knowing distance between them and recovering defender, to decide on crossing or running with ball to shoot.
- scanning central area to see if 'CDM' position is on to use for the bounce out.
- players watching the line to stay onside
