Objective: Setting up the "defensive trap", pushing the opposing team do the side (weak side) or "closing down"
Instructions:
Half of the field. One big goal and two small goals. Build out line.
Red team is defending big goal and attacking two small goals. Following the laws of the game from kick off, blue team players can not cross the build out line until GK touches the ball. Since there is only two small goals , we are forcing red team to play wide (working on build up and SPOA). But today we are working on Blue team organizing the defense, pressing against buil up and setting the trap.
- We want our #10 to press the ball first,no matter what side the ball is played from the GK.
- #3 and #2 defending the goal (space) first , then marking the player and then covering for#10
- #6 defending space first , covering for#2 and #3 before he helps #10, then marking #6

Objective: To teach pressure and cover.
Role of the player pressing : block penetrating early pass/shot - force the play outside (weak side)- dont "dive" - block the pass - win the ball
Role of the cover: defend the early pass/space behind/goal - keep the distance - be alert to step on time if the press gets beat - instruct the player presssing - set the trap

Objective: To give players idea of when, why and how to set up the trap.
Instructions: 20 x 30 yards grid , split in half. Team in posession is movimg the ball in opposite grid toi try to dribble over the end line . Simple 3v3.
Team defending, blue team, is organizing who will press and how efectively to organize the trap.

Objective: Setting uop the "defensive trap", pushing the opposing team do the side (weak side).
Instructions: Three chanels with 1v1 situation in each chanel and a small goal at the end. The red team defends the big goal with goalkeeper, and GK can pass to any red player at all times. The red team builds the play and aim to score on small goals. They CAN NOT leave the channels at any point and ALL 3 players must touch the ball before a goal can be scored. Encourage good passing and switching play. Blue players can move freely in order to press, set the trap and then counter. Red players become defenders but must still remain within their chanels.
Target #3 Red team can also score the goal with the long pass from their own defensive third to Target #3. This will make blue team Alwyas on the look out to prevent long pass behind their back.
