Session Objective:
In this session we want the players to understand that switching the point of attack to the side we have better numbers, or better field position, means we have more time and space to play and attack. Players should be able to do quick math on the run, recognise and create overloads, and move the ball quickly, with short sharp passes, or long direct passes.

14 players
Set Up: bibs to make two teams, 4 cones mark a 12x12m square, with pancakes centrally and back from sides of square. 2+2 spare balls needed, (extra in goals)
Instructions: Players stand behind pancakes and pass to the side where they have the MORE (or same id needed) teammates or a "numbers advantage", then move to where there's least team mates.
Variation/Progression:
UP: limit touches, make square smaller, time limit, competitive "catch the other team out"
DOWN: Unlimited touches, make square larger, and slow movements of running players after their pass
Key Coaching Points: Players should try and keep good ball speed, with the ball never stopping, unless to change direction. the game could also be adapted to have the person who has just made a pass, press the ball carrier on the other team, until they have released the ball. The Coach can choose to all the ball to be played to an "even numbered" side if the game need to be adjusted. The coach can also let players "cheat" by moving whenever they want to a different side.
Player Coaching Points:
Do your math and figure out where the ball is going BEFORE you receive it.
If you have more numbers in your group, call the ball, and help make the decision for the ball carrier.
Call the ball before they receive it
"Beside" and "Beyond" are the calls that should be made to call the ball
Scanning and listening for calls will help make decisions faster.
Fast ball speed is a must

"JAIL BREAK"
Instructions:
BP players are guards
BPO are convicts
BALL is the key to unlock the jail
Guards should keep the key moving around, not letting the convicts steal the key
If the key is stolen, it should be passed to the holding cell to free the rest of the inmates
If inmates are freed, they lock the guards in the cell and the game continues
Variation/Progression:
Start with just 1 convict out and another is freed every 5 passes. count how many passes total.
UP: let more 2 out each time
DOWN: keep more in cell longer
Key Coaching Points:
Players should try and keep good ball speed, with the ball never stopping, unless to change direction.
adjust the tempo of the game as needed using time and touch constraints.
Remind players to use correct words (Beside, Between, Beyond, Beneath)
