Instructions
- Play starts when the blues will run out towards the reds who will feed the ball into the blues to return the pass with a left foot and right foot volley
- As soon as the blues have returned the volleys back into the reds, they will turn and make their way towards the yellows
- As the blues are approaching the cones, their (yellow) partner will shout out either 'red or white' in reference to the cones in the centre. Whichever cone is shouted out, the blue will have to bend down and touch it before receiving the ball from their yellow teammate.
- The yellow will then feed the ball in for a volley on both feet from the blues
Time- Each player in the centre will be working for a block of 90 seconds
- After 90 seconds, the blues will then swap places with the reds.
- After a further 90 seconds, the reds will swap with the yellows
DevelopmentsAfter everyone has done a round of this, we will do different types of return passes instead of volleys. These can be:
- Ground pass
- Headers
- Chest and volley back
- Knee control and volley back
Challenges/targetsHow many times can the player travel through the centre cones after completing successful passes
Coaching points
- Keep eye on the ball
- Listen to the call for which cone to touch
