Soccer Weekly 460
Set-up:
Need balls, bibs, and cones in an area 25 x 15 yards. Mark out four cones in the corners of the area with two cones in the middle 5 yards apart.
How to play: The passing pattern starts with A passing to B as both players move up the area. B passes into C who passes back to D. D sets up A for a pass across to E. Players A and B run and join E and F. Now E plays to F and play goes back up the other end. The game continues to be run in waves up and down the pitch.
Progression
Move the session to half a pitch and add a goal on the half way line and a goal at the penalty area end plus goalkeepers.
Now at the end of the move the player who receives a pass from C or D takes a shot at goal.
Technique
Passing, moving and shooting with good weight and direction of pass to keep the session moving. TIMING of Runs!

How to play
1 team is neutral and plays for the team in possession
Start by coach delivering ball to a team who atttacks on goalkeeper
If defending team wins ball, they can score on either net. Progress with defending team to score within time limit (8 seconds)

Maximizing the touch(on half turn, bakcfoot etc)

How to do it
Stand beside a cone to be cleared.
Bring knees up and jump vertically but also laterally off ground and over the marker.
Land on both feet and jump back in the other direction.
Ground contact time should be minimal
Repeat for 15 seconds and a total of 6 sets.
Rest 30 seconds between sets.

Out of the back (20 mins)
Use two balls working simultaneously in a 30x20-yard area. Run the session in both directions with the ball being passed on by a player to a team mate as it goes top to bottom, bottom to top. By the end of the drill we expect to see players moving freely and with confidence.
SET-UP
Area - Up to 30x20 yards
Equipment - Balls, cones, goals
1st Ball:
The right-hand sequence begins at the bottom of the area (1)
The midfielder drops off the pole/cone to receive on the half-turn and feeds the ball on one-touch (2)
The full-back moves from deep to make a onetouch pass into the forward (3)
2nd Ball:
Starts from the top of the area.
The forward receives a pass and moves around the back of the pole/cones(1)
A straight pass is made to the winger(2)
Receives two touch and feeds to teammate who has moved centrally (3)
Central teammate spins ‘around the corner’ and feeds back to the target player(4) and repeat
