Basic passing and receiving session for U10/11's. This plan was made for 2 coaches splitting a group of 24 players.

Description
3 players line up at the bottom of the Triangle / 'Y' with a ball each. The first person in line plays a short pass directly to the player in front. The pass should be played to the outside foot depending on which way they are turning, in this case the player turns to his/her left. After receiving and turning, the ball is played to the outside player at the top of the 'Y' who's first touch should take the ball out of their feet and into the direction of their dribble path leading to the back of the line. Each player follows their pass. The drill repeats with this time the pass going out to the opposite corner.
Progressions
- Check away from the cone, check back in on an angle, receive around the cone.
- Give and Go between first two passers
- Give and Go between 2nd and 3rd players
- When passing to the outside corner, sprint and pressure the receiver.
Coaching Points
- Receiving on toes
- Head up, check shoulder.
- Weight and Quality of pass.
- First tough in correct direction, use different surfaces.

Variations
- Team correctly receives 5 passes in a row awards a goal
- Team must correctly receive a pass into each third of the field in order to progress

Warm Up (15 mins)
Description
Simple pass and receive exercise, 2 people are on the cones at either end of the lane. Person in the middle is working for 2 minutes before switching. Phase 1: Give and Go with one player on the cone, receive and turn 180 degrees to play to the opposite cone. Repeat. Phase 2: This time we are receiving on the half turn, so the outside leg is used to control the ball. Phase 3: Now we are checking away and creating an angle for the pass. Try to play 2 touch all the time. Communicate, tell them where you want the ball played both visually (by pointing) and verbally.
Coaching Points
- Inside foot pass: toe up, heel down. Push rather than sweep.
- Standing foot placed next to ball and facing target
- Body facing the way you want to play, don't allow hips to stray
- Good contact and follow through
