Explanation :
Ball starts with red team 4v3 in zone 2 at half way line
Aim is to overload and exploit the wing using wide players and full backs for overlaps with support from midfield and striker into zone 1 & score in mini goal.
If blue win the ball they have 10 seconds to score in mini goals end of zone 2
Game will always restart with red team at half way line by coach.
Game is mirrored on opposite side .
Progression :
Allow blue defender to enter zone 1.
Limit amount of passes to get wide player into zone 1

Explanation -Ball starts with Coach from different points at the coach’s discretion Attacking team (RED) must try and create an overlap in wide area and create a goal scoring opportunity Defending team (BLUE) must try and prevent RED from scoring if they win ball they score in mini goals located at half way line
Progression :
Place a restriction on the Blue (defending) team 10 secs to score and or limit their touches to 2 touch.
Team Task: Can you look to penetrate in wide.

Can you create an Overlap for our #2 or #5?Player Tasks –#2 & #5 – Can you overlap the #7 or #11 to get into a position to cross a ball into the goal scoring area?#2 & #5 – Can you time your forward runs to enable to create the overlap?#7 or #11 – Can you take the space infield to create the space for the #2 or #5 to overlap?#8, #9 & #10 – Can you position yourself to receive the ball & play forward pass to overlapping #2 or #5?#8, #9 & #10 – Can you timing of runs into the box to meet the cross?#7 or #11 – Can you make a back post run if the ball is on the opposite side of the pitch to you?
Coaching Cues :
#2 or #5 – If the #7 or #11 take the space infield then this is your cue to overlap#7 or #11 – When the ball is being whipped into the penalty area from the opposite side of the pitch you must be making a run towardthe back post#8, #9 or #10 – When the #7 or #11 tuck in field this is your cue to drop into the space between the lines and look to play a diagonalforward ball our overlapping #2 or #5

Play starts with the right sided drill then alternates after each run through .Players follow their pass Ball is to chipped to the GK to start then increase as drill goes on7/11 must time their runs inside to create space for 2/5 to overlap. Ball is played to the #2#2 plays to the #10#10 plays to the #7#7 plays to the #6#6 plays a diagonal ball to the overlapping #2Ball is crossed to the GK The overlapping player then returns to the starting point.
Variations:
Add a 9 to allow a shot on goal from the cross. Vary pattern of passing to add decision making for players.
