Defending stance
-Staggered feet (One leg in front and second in back)
-Kness bent, hips dropped
-Use ball of your feet to move quickly and to change position
-Arm length away
1st
Red player moves in defensive stance forward while blue player back paddles in defensive stance.
2nd
Have one player start in the middle and run up to his/her partner getting into defensive stance. Slow down and use your arm to keep distance.
3rd
Use a ball and players repeat the process.
Coaching Points
1. Quick on your feet to change position.
2. Keep your feet close.
3. Arm length away to see ball and have time to react

Directions: Blue player passes the ball to red player and follows the pass to apply instant pressure. Red player scores by dribbling past the blue line, blue player scores by gaining possesion and crossing the line or stopping red player from advancing. After each play, players switch positions.
Coaching points
1. Sprint up and slow donw when approaching.
2. Arm length away (Extend your arm to keep some distance)
3. Pressure to week side.
4. Don't give the player the side line in 1v1.
Progression
1. Player that does not score a point has to complete an exercise.
2. Team compeition. Defenders vs attacker and see who can score more points on defense.

Directions
One player starts in the middle and acts as the defender. Outside players are attacking the defender. Defenders job is to stop the attacking player from corssing. If the defender stops the attacker, attacker becomes on defense instantly and attackers keep attacking.
Coaching points
1. Quick on your feet.
2. Get into your position fast.
3. Stay on your feet, try to avoid sliding.

Directions
Players will play 2v2 or 3v3 games. Each game lasts for 7 mins and quick rotation.

Warm up 1 (15 mins)
Players get into groups of 2 to play tag. They decide who is the tagger by doing rock-paper-scissors. The tagger can only tag his/her partner. Each round lasts for 30 seconds and the person that is not the tagger is the winner. The player that is a tagger has to complete 5 frog jumps. Switch partners after every round. Repeat 3-4 rounds.
Progression
1. Add a soccer ball and player has to steal the ball away from his/her partner.
2. Players can steal the ball away from anyone.
Coaching Tips
1. Head up. See the field.
2. Move quickly on your feet when presented in a 1v1 situation.
3. Try to toe poke to win the ball.
