40 x 40 grid 2 x Samba goals each side 8 v 8 in middle 2 x neutral player on wings 25 min
conditioned game go from all in to 2 touch back to all in over the 25 min to try force the attacking team to move the ball faster forcing the defensive team to react quicker
Aim of the game is to try and score into one of the 2 Samba nets on the far side can use the neutral wingers for a pass that cant be tackled
we are working on compactness in defence so i will be looking on how we defend getting bodies back to cut passing lanes, cut shots to the goal and how we shuffle across keeping the pitch compact when the attacking team move from scoring in one net to the other
- can we get the bodies back in to cut off penetrating passing lanes for the attacking team
- force the other team back or into an area where we can win the ball
- if attacking team gets forced back and around towards the other goal can we shuffle as a unit across keeping a good compact shape to close that down using body shape try and force them into errors/tight spaces where we can win the ball
- 3 B's
- communication between players to help hold a good shape / stay organised
- show enough pressure with out jumping into challenges
possible interventions
- shape too loose / open
- body shape when compact to force the opposite team into areas where we could win the ball
- team not moving well as a unit shuffling across as the attacking team moves from one goal to another
step in move the ball show the ripple effect and hope to find success as the game progresses by little goals being scored by the defensive team

9 v 9 game 25 min including coaching points 3-4-1 formation
start off with all in touches and move to 2 touch after 5 mins then back to all in
red team the defensive team where we focus on Compaction the attacking team in blue
Let them play first 5 min
step in when the blue team are having too much success due to red team shape
- not having enough bodies behind the ball
- body shape wrong to cut off passing lanes for penetrating passes
- body shape to force blue team back or wide and the attacking team into making a bad pass or the space closed down enough to get tackled
- do we show pressure and not jump in to tackles
any of these instances are enough for an intervention where i will step in correct move the ball show the ripple affect
step in 2 or 3 times during the period with hopefully the 3rd time showing Success
personal performance
i hope to step in and be clear with instructions on how i want compaction to work
second time stepping in ask the players more the questions the what? why? and how? and use their response to see how much they are understanding of the game in that area and hope to start seeing more success as the game goes on with the attacking team creating a lot less due to good compact shape and organisation through understanding and communication and hope a third stoppage to praise how they do it well
