Smaller pitch with 3v3 outfield players focusing on close shots

Working with the GK on his footwork movement in relation to where the ball is (small shuffle steps)

Commands his defence in closing play down to prevent shot

How is he going to save the shot as they will be from close range

Can he dive to push the ball away from goal

Is he on his toes in case it's a high shot

How has he dealt with the ball if it's rebounded back into play

Coahing points for GK:

Foot movement

Good balance

Check shoulders

Good start position of his hands

Whole use a 2 thirds of the pitch so the teams can have more shots on goal

Let them play

Red line through pitch is a reference point for positioning

Coaching points for GK's:

Movement when opposition has play in their half (if in the other on the edge of the penalty box)

Angles of GK adjusting to where the ball is in relation to his goal.

Larger steps whilst ball is further away

Smaller steps when closer

Position of hands beomes higher as the ball gets closer

If opposition break the lines the GK must come out to close the play down and make the goal smaller buy put the emphasis on the striker to make the wrong decision

Gk's to use the centre marking to help GK's decide which way to push the ball after a shot has come from that side

GK's to work with the back 3 at all times to give firm strong command

GK's to bring into play close & long shot stopping techniques

Cool down discussion with GK's & B3 to certain scenarios which have just been played out
