Basic Diamond Passing Pattern

Player with ball passes to the 'furthest' player on the next manaquin, receiver 'sets' the ball bacl to their partner who plays the pass to the next manaequin. 'Setter' follows ball to the next station. (see diagram)

Important to lay the foundations of what you are expecting later in the session during this stage.

Game Based Practise

4 v 4 Game

4 Neutral Players - 2 either side of goal

To score - play combination with players outside of square

Yellow Players - 1 Touch to set the ball back

Scorer swaps with player who sets the ball

Key Points:

- Yellow players must be 'planning ahead' of where they are going to pass the ball

- Encourage quick combinations (1-2's ect)

- Good pass into yellow player to make their 1 touch as easy as possible

- always checking shoulder inside rectangle to know where you players and space are

- open body postion to be able to move ball with 1 touch
