Set-up: two large cones 4 yards apart, two lines of 2-3 players each 15 yards apart perpendicular to the cones
Description: Players pass the ball in a continuous pattern. Player A passes through the cones to Player B who checks into middle to receive pass. Player B passes back to Player A on an angle then checks horizontally outside of the cones away from Player A to receive a pass. Player A plays the ball back into the feet of Player B who has now created a new angle and is positoned to play forward. Player B passes to Player D who restarts the pattern passing to Player A who checks into the cones.
Progressions: one touch, add passive defender to force players to create space away from defender
Coaching Points: sharp/accurate passes on angles, receiving on correct foot, move into space away from cones, open body position, scanning before receiving pass

Set-up: two large cones 4 yards apart, two lines of 2-3 players each 15 yards apart aligned with the cones
Description: Players pass the ball in a continuous pattern. Player A passes to Player B makes run outside of cones to opposite line. Player B passes through the cones to Player A, and Player A plays the ball to the next player in the line in front of them (Player C). Player A then checks wide and opens body to receive the ball back from Player C and restart the pattern.
Progressions: one touch
Coaching Points: sharp/accurate passes, receiving on correct foot, check into space away from cones, timing of run/pass
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Set-up: four cones marking a 10 yard x 15 yard area, 2-3 players at each cone
Description: Players pass the ball in a continuous pattern (players follow their pass). The ball is played along the short edge of the rectangle, across the diagonal to the opposite cone, along the short edge, and across the diagonal to the opposite cone (starting position).
Progressions: one touch, add a second/third ball
Coaching Points: sharp/accurate passes to feet, receiving on correct foot, scan area to make sure there are no obstructions, check off cone to create space/passing lane when players are running through
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Set-up: four cones marking a 20 yard x 30 yard area with 2 cones 4-6 yards apart in the middle, 2 players at each corner cone, one player at each middle cone
Description: Players pass the ball in a continuous pattern. Player A passes the ball to central player (Player B). Player C checks in to middle. Player A overlaps around Player C (not the cone) and receives the pass from Player B. Player A passes across to Player D who restarts the pattern on that side.
Progressions: one touch, add a second ball
Coaching Points: sharp/accurate passes, receiving on correct foot, check into central player at proper distance/angle, bend overlapping run into middle
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Set-up: four cones marking a 25 yard square, 2-3 players at each cone,
Description: Players pass the ball in a continuous pattern. The first player passes along the edge of the square to the next player, who drops the ball off for them at an angle and makes a run around the cone to receive the ball back. The second player then plays the ball long to the next player, repeating the pattern.
Progressions: one touch, add a second ball (split players into two groups of colors, each group has a ball), two teams race to pass the ball around the square trying to overlap each other (when coach shouts "change", players change direction of pattern)
Coaching Points: sharp/accurate passes to feet, receiving on correct foot, open body position when making run around the cone (e.g. RB or LB), timing/weight of passes

Description: Players pass the ball in a continuous pattern. The first player passes along the edge of the square to the next player, who drops the ball off for them at an angle and makes a run around the cone to then support the next player in the square. After receiving the ball back, the first player plays the ball long on an angle to the third player who drops the ball off for the incoming second player. The second player then plays the ball long to the next player, repeating the pattern.

2-Cone Passing Pattern 1
Set-up: two large cones 4 yards apart, two lines of 2-3 players each 15 yards apart perpendicular to the cones
Description: Players pass the ball in a continuous pattern. Player A passes through the cones to Player B and checks to either side of the cones. Player B passes to Player A, and Player A plays the ball back into the feet of Player B who restarts the pattern passing to Player C.
Progressions: one touch, coach holds up color to signal to Player A whether to pass back to Player B or play forward to Player C
Coaching Points: sharp/accurate passes, receiving on correct foot, check into space away from cones, (progression) scanning before receiving pass
