OBJECTIVES:
*To develop a teams ability to build out from the back using the #6 and #8
WHO: Primary Player - #6, #8, #4, #5 Secondary Players - #1, #10, #9
WHEN: Attacking phase 1 & 2 - Upon gaining possession in the defensive third and the team is looking to build out of the back
WHERE: In the defensive third and building through the middle third in central areas
WHAT: Improving the players ability to pass and receive and create space for themselves so the team can possess the ball to eventually penetrate into the attacking half of the field.
WHY: To help the players possess and be patient as they play out of the back into the attacking half of the field.
GENERAL PRINCIPLES:
* Unbalance the opponent
* Exploit area's where the opponent is unbalanced.
TEAM PRINCIPLES:
* Spread out and Triangulate to create passing options
* Create numbers up between and behind the lines
* Vary the types of runs
* Play forward when possible or keep the ball.
* Create 1v1's and 2v1 situations
TEAM TASKS:
* Keep possession while looking to unbalance the opponent
* Create good angles of support ahead of the ball, to the side of the ball and behind the ball to combine
* Make runs off the ball from inside to out and outside to in
* Provide defensive balance while in the attack

INTENSITY: moderate ACTIVITY TIME: 5 mins INTERVALS: 4 REST: 1 min
DESCRIPTION:
* Place a 6 x 3 yard box at the end of the grid
* 1 player from each team is in the end grids and 2 players from each team are in the middle. A middle player can drop into the end grids at any time to create a 2v1 to play out and play into next zone.
Scoring: by dribbling into the zone.
Progression: allow a defender to track with the midfielder.
Player Tasks:
* Players #6 & #10 always looking to triangulate
* #6 & #10 to be playing on different lines
COACHING POINTS:
-Attacking Principles of Play:
1. Movement off the ball - check, change the pace of the movement
2. Penetration - passing (open up) vs dribbling. Read the intention of the defender.
3. Support play - distances and angles
4 Improvisation - rotation of midfield players
5. Speed of play.

INTENSITY: High ACTIVITY TIME: 8 mins REST: 2 min INTERVAL: 2
DESCRIPTION:
* Attacking team 1-2-3-1 (Yellow #4, #5, #6, #8, #10, #9) Vs 2-3-2 (Black #4, #5, #6, #8, #10, #7, #11)
* The team attacking the counter goals must keep the target player (#9) past the restraining line. They have to play into this player and join them before scoring on a counter goal
* Normal rules apply (inc offside).

* Players #6, #8 and #10 always looking to triangulate - interchanging positions
* #6, #8, #10 to be playing on different lines
* #9 always looking to provide movement off the ball to support
* #4 & #5 providing defensive balance and support behind
COACHING POINTS:

DESCRIPTION
* A passes to B. A then moves the where C was standing. C comes off the post to receive a ball dropped back from B. C passes to D and follows the pass.
Go in other direction: D passes to A, after the pass, D moves to where B is standing. B comes off the post and receives a dropped pass from A. B plays a pass to E. The pattern continues.
