WHY: To limit the oppositions options of the next pass and playing out the back

Stage 1: Warm up (15 mins)

INTENSITY: Moderate ACTIVITY TIME: 2 mins REST: 30-45 seconds INTERVALS: 5

Activity:

- 4 v 4 v 4 high pressure transition

- Coach plays ball into zone for team to retain possession.

- Functional lines pressure the ball as a group. Defense should win possession and play the ball to the opposite team/grid.

- The team who looses possession transitions to defend.

- Team in possession looks to play 10 TOTAL passes while under pressure for a point.

Note: any spare players have a 1 v 1 channel for players to practice their 1 v 1 skills then rotate them.

Coaching Points:

1. Technical Application of Defensive pressure - individual body position to force inside.

2. Angle, Speed, and Distance of pressure on the ball

- When? As the ball travels to the opposition

- Why? To limit the options for the player with the ball or receiving the ball

- Rotate Yellow team every 2 minutes.
