Remember back to previous sessions on forward runs, what can we remember? -
Four Boxes players will work across at first leaving a gap in-between each box for players to make the forward run into before transferring the ball in the other box
Set up 2 areas 15 x 15 play straight then move diagonally opposite to make it more messy as other players will be making forward runs too. In one grid have 4v2 and the other a 3v1 Four attackers need to create opportunity to release a player on a forward run so they can pass to the other grid and join in. One of the defenders can give chase and join the other group creating another 4v2 so the process can restart.
Each player has to try and get across to the other side this will encourage all players to have chance creating forward runs to receive
Coaching points : Think about our runs (Time, shape, speed), Clever movements, Communication ( Voice, pointing, etc ), Quickness of player making the pass so we dont miss the opportunity.
Learning Objectives Team - Maintain balance with the squared area (Att PoPs) to allow players to make forward runs & keep possession & How to defend when outnumbered (can defenders stop the forward pass).
