Organization:
10x20 yard area set up as shown (Make smaller depending on age/ability)
3 players (2 Attackers, 1 Defender)
3 balls
Instructions:
Attackers dribble/run with the ball to switch positions past 1 defender
Defender has to try to win both balls
Players should observe movement of defender. If they approach partner, run with the ball, if they approach them, try to beat the defender
Play 5 repetitions and then rotate players
Coaching Points:
Positive first touch, pushing ball away from self
Observing position of other player/defender
Use fakes and feints to deceive defender
Accelerate after passing the defender
Improvisation/Creativity
Progressions:
Add a second defender, both players should have to dribble
Go 2v2 if appropriate.
Defender is passive, acts as an obstacle, rather than opponent

Organization:
30 x 30 yard area set up as shown
Players get into three teams, 2 play while one rests, (Winner stays on format).
Supply of balls by coach at half-way line
Instructions:
Coach starts game by serving to player who has positioned them self best to make a penetrating dribble.
Teams score by dribbling through either of two wide gates
If ball goes out, coach restarts with a pass to the team who did not concede possession
If goal is scored, conceding team comes gets ball. Play to four goals then rotate teams.
Coaching Points:
Controlled approach
Engage Defender at speed by attacking front foot
Timing of Move – just outside tackling radius
Change of speed and direction
Cut into the space behind defender
Head up, accelerate
Progressions:
Increase to a 50x30 area
Restart with kick-ins, and make first touch free for attacking team
First team to 4 points wins, losing team is replaced by resting team
Wide gates are removed, and only the central gates score points
Finish with 4v4 game format, emphasise principles from session.

Instructions:
Players dribble around the large area and are not allowed into the small area
When the coach shouts out “s all” all players have to dribble into the small area
When coach shouts out “big” all players move into the large area
Play for a set time period
Coaching Points:
Controlled approach
Keep your head up to observe the situation
Change of speed and direction
Progressions:
Divide players into two teams so that when one team is in the big area, the other is in the small area
Reduce the size of the areas to increase traffic
Increase area to 30 x 30 for large area, and 12 x 12 for sm all area
