-To be able to pass, receive and create space
-To understanding the basic concept of positioning- move to empty spaces rather than where a teammate already is
-Learn to pass using basic shapes such as Triangles, to provide more options for person in possession.

Organisation
-Players with a ball each
-Split players into one of the two Zones
Description
-Everyone begins by dribbling in the area.
-When coach blows whistle, players perform skills from last week at a Red cone-
Shoulder Feint/Stepovers.
-When coach shouts SWITCH, players will cross over whilst passing & switching balls with a player from the opposite zone. They then continue to dribble in their new zone.
Coaching Points
-Communicate clearly with your partner, verbally and physically (by pointing i.e. to a cone)
-Look up to see where partner is, even when dribbling.
-Do not pass the ball until it is clear who you are passing and receiving with, otherwise you lose possession.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation
-Set up a dribbling area, and a passing area, making triangles, using 3 coloured cones.
-Provide each coloured Triangle with 1 ball, for players to use when whistle is blown.
-Players are put in teams of 3 and assigned a colour/symbol: Red(Fire), Blue(Sea) (Add Green- Trees if more than 6 players)
Description
The Triangle Game
-Players dribble with a ball each in the empty area.
-Recap on dribbling and skills covered previously- Toe taps, Inside Shuffles (add Inside/outside cuts as a progression).
-When coach shouts a colour/symbol, those 3 players must leave their balls where the are and quickly run to their triangle (one player occupying each cone).
-Here they will pass the ball to each other clockwise, completing 6 passes, before leaving the ball in the middle and dribbling again with their ball that they had left.
Progressions
1) Players can pass to either of their 2 teammates but they must communicate with them by calling their name.
2) Add 2 passes each time, i.e. 8, then 10.
3) Now call both teams and make it a race- first team to 10 passes wins!
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation
-Assign players to teams of 4.
-3 players trying to keep possession V 1 defender.
Description
-Players work on continuing the second progression of the Technical element covered today, where they must pass to one of their teammates and move into a new position (one of the corners) after every pass.
-The defender must work to anticipate where the ball is going.
-If the defender steals the ball, he must replace player who attempted the pass.
Progression:
-Now players play a possession match using the whole space (No goals for first 2 minutes).
-The aim is to apply the learned tactics of positioning to maintain possession of the ball.
Coaching points
-Emphasize the importance of NOT being in the same position as another teammate
-Cover as much area as possible by spreading out and giving as many options i.e. by passing using Triangles
-Use spatial awareness well by looking up at all times: before, after and during a pass.
