Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): 3v3 game CV Academy

Set up: Area 30x30 yrds, 1 big goal facing 2 small goals. players in 2 teams play 3v3 in middle attack vs defence. 

Format: GK plays pass into attackers, defenders enter the pitch & becomes 3v3 to score. If def win the ball they counter to small goals. Rotate roles after set time. 

Key Points: Use the space to attempt to draw out defenders and create space to play through or around & create 1v1 opportunities.

Be positive in 1v1 situations and look to beat your opponent with quick attacking play.

Timing & variations of forward runs to unbalance the defensive organisation and opportunities for player on ball to play forward passes to runs in behind.

Defending skills as a unit and individual to delay attacks and win the ball

Press slide and cover to remain compact and make it difficult for the atatckers

Prevent crosses, through balls and shots at goal by denying player on the ball time and space
