Stop Tap Stop Start Technique: Edgemont Clinics U10-U12

Organization:
Multiple grids as above. Grid approx 30x15. Cones as above. Pugg net in middle of the lane.
Instructions:
Players dribble at the pugg goal, preform the Stop Tap technique, dribble through the gate in front of them and go to the line in the opposite corner from where they started. All players with a ball.
Coaching Points:
* Turn head/hips to sell stop start
* Stop ball with sole of boot while in the same motion hop on plant foot and strike ball with inside touch
* Big touch to beat a defender to gate
Progressions:
1) SAQ game with balls for a 1v1 game (see previous activity) (B) Gate on the right is worth 2 points (for attacker and defender)

Instructions:
A) Every player has a ball and preforms a juggling challenge after coach command.

B) SAQ - Player on left tries to tag the player on the right for a point. The player on the right tries to get through either left gate for a point, right gate for two points. Players switch lines after they go.
Coaching Points:
* Heads up play to know where defender is
* Using defenders momentum against them to change directions
* Use of hips to fake turn and stop defender's momentum

B) Add balls for a 1v1 activity (after technical reps)
