Technical Passing Exercise- Defending in the Attacking Third
Technical Exercise - Pass Right, Move left & Vice Versa
Player behind passing player will press opposite player when that player receives the ball
Start with just passing, then add the defender.
Defensive Actions
Cut off one side of the field, accelerate to close space down, slow down as you approach to protect the space behind you.

Progression: Improve defensive actions in attacking third
Principles:
- Make the space small, force to corner areas
- Body shape to force pass
- get/stay compact and press in identified situations(poor touch, head down)
Counter Principles:
- Makle the space wide, long
- Play quickly, use deception
Objective of defending team is to steal the ball from the opponent. If attacking team makes 10 passes =1 pt. If defensive team wins and and plays to a teammate that is also a point.
1. Force wide and squeeze to eliminate options
2. Pressure, cover and balance
3. Neutral moves to the side and wide player advances
