Star Wars Lightsaber Duel (10 mins)

Set Up

• 20 x 30 area to play in (this will be the Darth Star for this game)
• Place gates around the area, two different colours, with small goals at either end of the playing area
• Each player has a ball
• Players (Jedi) wear red bibs and nominate one player who will be Darth Vader (black bib)

Practice

• Players must dribble their ball through either the green gates or blue gates, to gather crystals for their lightsaber, then they must score a goal to charge their lighsaber.
• Once their lightsaber is charged they have to attempt to knock their lightsaber (ball) against Darth Vader's lightsaber (ball) to knock him out and score a point.
• Darth Vader must keep away from the Jedi .
• Play for 2 minutes and the player with the most hits will become Darth Vader for the next game.

Progression

• If players are finding it difficult make the gates wider and go through fewer gates
• to challenge players make the gates smaller, go through more gates in the time and have 1 or 2 players play as Stormtroopers (white bibs) who can help to protect Darth Vader by blocking the Jedi.

Coaching Points

• Keep your head up whilst dribbling to see other players around you
• Pass using the inside of your foot
• Close control when going through the gates and look to accelerate once through the gates to the next gate
