Animation 1 (25 mins)
1. First player comes out and goes 1 v GK but must get past the green shooting line. This only happens on the first phase on this practice. This is a one time only shot regardless of outcome.
2. Waiting at the other end are 2 players with a ball. The trigger for them to go is the moment of the shot NOT the moment it goes in the back of the net.
3. Upon this trigger, the 2 attackers go 2v1 against the player has just shot. They counter attack and look to finish.
4. If the 2v1 results in a goal, or a shot that would result in a goal clearance then the 2 waiting attackers (one either side of the goal) can then attack to join their recovering defender to form a 3 while the 2 attackers who have just finished now become defenders. Once again the trigger is the shot or finish.
5. This now becomes a 3v2 counter-attack and played to a conclusion.
6. Waiting at the end is a player with ball ready to start the 1vGK cycle again and the whole cycle of attack is repeated for 4 minutes.
Behaviours:
Group organisation. Players know where they are in the cycle of the play.
Communication between the players as a 2 and as 3.
Awareness of when to launch counter-attack. What are the triggers?
First touch where does that take the player? Support players.
Recovery after 3v2 to restart 1vGK, organisation.
