1st pattern

Key Factors

Unopposed drill to work on different patterns of attacking play using this formation,

Firstly using the slide rule pass to break the defensive line

Secondly using the #9 movement, he can play any of the forward passes that ar open or bounce the ball into #10 or #8 so he can break lines and play the ball to the wide midfielders to get a cross into the box

Third pattern is to use a CM as a 3rd man runner to create a scoring opportunity for either of the strikers

Organisation

Using the 2-4-1-1 formation the blues will be attacking the opposite goalkeeper,

Aim is to work on the patterns of play to attick using the lone st,withdrawn st and the midfield 4.

This includes some direct passing and attcking, and other passing combinations to break lines so attacking players can get into pockets of space.

1st pattern-

#5 plays into #6,( trigger for #10 first movement of dropping to show)

#6 on the turn then plays into #10 who has spinned into space (#9 trigger to peel around CB area to the edge of the box)

#10 plays a through pass into #9 forward run so he can get an attempt at goal

Midfielders movement will be to push a bit higher to support play, wide players push further ahead.

Emphasis on the #6 1st touch beingon back foot to play forward early, #10 to be in enough space to play a good killer pass into the #9 who needs to creat an angle to shoot across the GK

Play the same movements by using the opposite server and midfielder.

3rd pattern

Off the ball forward runs,

server #5 plays to wide man #7, #9 drops in to receive off #7, tries to play #10 who plays one of the opposite runners #6 or #11, if #9 cannot play #10 early he can try to play the runners in him/herself
