Defending 1v1/Outnumbered (15 mins)
Key Factors
Recognising defensive situation (ie. 1v1, Outnumbered etc)
Strategy depending on situation
Organisation
5 defenders, 7 attackers, 3 balls in play
Attackers score points by dibbling balls through gates on side of square
Defenders score points by dribbling ball outside area, over any line
Coaching Points
If you are in balance (1v1/2v2) or overloaded in favour (2 defenders to 1 attackers), can you press ball?
If you are outnumbered, can you delay and protect goal?
When you win the ball, can you break quickley?
Re-gression
Use only 4 defenders
Each defender defends 1 goal
'Free' area in middle of pitch
4 footballs, attackers decide how many players attack each goal
This part is designed to strip back session into a more structure 'Defending when Outnumbered' game, to allow players to put into practice ideas suggested during the more chaotic game
