Passing Circle Warm Up
Organization:
1.Circle with a radius of approx 30 yard area set up as shown
2.12 players (6 Attackers, 6 Feeders)
3.6 Balls (Additional around the outside)
Instructions:
1.6 players (feeders) create a circle of about 30 yard radius
2.6 attackers dribble a ball around in the inside of the circle
3.An attacker dribbles up to a feeder, which is free, and passes and receives the ball back
4.After receiving the ball player turns to find another feeder
5.Complete as many passes as possible in a 3 minute time frame
6.Switch over after the 3 minute period
Coaching Points:
1.Angle of approach – center
2.Supporting foot is next to the ball pointed at target
3.Ankle locked with toe pointed up
4.Weight and accuracy of pass
Progressions:
P – Combinations of passing styles
P – Maximum of 2 touches before you pass the ball
R – Increase the area size for more room
